Deialog a chydweithrediad hir-dymor gydag artistiaid, mudiadau a chyhoeddiadau sy’n llywio fy ngwaith. Caiff ei arwain gan brosesau chwareus, ymchwiliol, amlieithog a rhyngddisgyblaethol, sy’n troi mewn i brosiectau curadurol, testunau beirniadol, ysgrifau, cyfieithiadau, ffuglenau a chynulliadau. Mae wedi’i angori yn fy nghyd-destun daearyddol a ieithyddol, ac mae diddordebau mewn ymchwil gasglebol, ffurfiau dogfen, safle-benodolrwydd a hanesion o ddiwylliant weledol hoyw/cwiar yn ffigyru’n gryf.
Des i’n ail am y 10th International Award for Art Criticism (IAAC10), a dwi wedi bod yn olygydd gyda Artes Mundi ac yn Gymrawd Cymru’r Dyfodol. Yn ddiweddar, cyflwynais waith newydd ar ffurf arddangosfa fideo yn Mostyn gyda Owain Train McGilvary, mewn perfformiad aml-gyfrwng yn Green Man gyda Angela Davies, mewn darlleniadau gyda Gwyl y Gelli a Creiriau, a darnau i e-flux, the Public Review, Frieze ac Art Monthly.
Rhwng 2021-4, trefnais i Pegwn: rhaglen esblygol gyda Peak Cymru i gynhyrchu gofodau arbrofol i artistiaid ymgasglu o gwmpas cwestiynau ynghylch amlieithrwydd, cyfieithu a chreu geirfaoedd. Trwy 2025, dwi wedi bod yn adeiladu prosiect curadurol newydd, Testun testun, i arbrofi gyda mathau newydd o safleoedd ar gyfer sgwennu a disgwrs celf gyfoes yng Nghymru. Bydd ei ddwy raglen gyntaf yn dod allan yn yr hydref.
My work is guided by long-term collaborations with artists, arts organisations and publications, and emerges from playful, research-led, translingual and interdisciplinary processes. It spans publishing and curatorial projects, as well as art criticism, essays, translations and fictions, which occasionally take live or audiovisual forms. It’s often animated by interests in collective research, site-responsiveness, documentary media and visual cultures of gay/queer sociality.
I’ve been a runner-up for the 10th International Award for Art Criticism (IAAC10), editor of the Artes Mundi 10 journal and a Future Wales Fellow. Recently, I presented new work in an exhibition at Mostyn with Owain Train McGilvary (co-commissioned with LUX); at a screening-performance at Green Man with Angela Davies; in readings with the Hay Festival and Creiriau; and in pieces for e-flux, the Public Review, Frieze and Art Monthly. (In 2022-3, I regularly contributed to Artforum.)
From 2021-4, I organised Pegwn, an iterative programme with Peak Cymru producing experimental spaces for artists to gather around questions of multilingualism, translation and language-making. Throughout 2025, I have been quietly initiating a curatorial project testing new, artist-centred sites for art writing and critical vocabulary-building in Wales, to be called Testun testun. Its two inaugural programmes will become public in the autumn.
